Abstract

Background. One of the body’s endurance exercises can be done with the step up test training. Harvard’s Step Test was created by Brouha in the sports laboratory of Harvard.This research is made for knowing the effect of Step up Training on the blood pressure. Objective. To know that the step up test training within 12 weeks has an impact on decreasing the blood pressure. Methods. This research is True experimental laboratoric using pre and post control group as it’s design. Sample of this research are 26 male of Tugu Muda’s Football Academy Student’s age of 12-14 years old that fulfill the criteria for inclusion and exclusion, then divided into two group, the control group and the case group Then do a homogeneitic test to avoid diferences that may affect the research result between the control group and the case group And then do the hypothesis test using the Mann-Whitney test. Result. There is a meaningful changes decrease from the sistole,but not from the diastole Conclusion. The Step up Test training will cause changes for the case group’s blood pressure to drop if given the increased intensity of time. Keyword : Sistole,Diastole,Harvard Step Test,Step up training
