Abstract

High pressure heater (HPH) merupakan alat penukar kalor yang berfungsi memberi pemanasan awal pada air umpan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pembangkit. HPH pada PLTU Rembang telah dioperasikan sejak tahun 2011 sehingga dimungkinkan mengalami penurunan kinerja karena terjadi pengotoran. Melihat pentingnya peran HPH, maka perlu dianalisa kinerjanya. Analisa dilakukan dengan membandingkan antara kinerja pada awal operasi tahun 2011 dengan kinerja pada tahun 2015. Jika ditemukan penurunan kinerja maka harus dicari penyebab dan solusinya. Analisa dilakukan terhadap HPH #1 Unit #20. Perhitungan dilakukan untuk mencari nilai terminal temperature difference (TTD), drain cooler approach (DCA), laju aliran uap ekstraksi (ṁ), koefisien perpindahan kalor keseluruhan (U), dan effectiveness (ɛ) sebagai indikator kinerja. Data parameter yang dibutuhkan sebagai untuk perhitungan diambil dari riwayat operasi pada komputer pemantau operasi central control room. Variabel kontrol yang digunakan adalah luasan area perpindahan kalor dan beban unit 300 MW. Dari hasil analisa diketahui bahwa terjadi kenaikan nilai TTD sebesar 3,09 °C dan kenaikan nilai DCA sebesar 2,38°C yang disebabkan oleh ketidakakuratan level meter pada sistem pengatur level drain uap ekstraksi sehingga perlu dilakukan perbaikan level meter. Terjadi kenaikan nilai ṁ sebesar 0,551 ton/jam yang disebabkan oleh kerusakan erosi pada restriction orifice jalur suplai uap ekstraksi sehingga perlu dilakukan penggantian restriction orifice atau throttling pada check valve jalur uap ekstraksi. Terjadi penurunan nilai U sebesar 0,25 kJ/m2/s/°C yang disebabkan oleh pengotoran. Perlu penyelidikan lebih lanjut mengenai kondisi pengotoran agar dapat ditentukan metode pembersihan yang tepat. Nilai effectiveness mengalami penurunan sebesar 0,002 yang relatif kecil. Kata kunci : effectiveness, heater High pressure heater (HPH) is a heat exchanger that applies pre-heating for boiler feedwater in purpose to increase plant efficiency. HPH in PLTU Rembang has been operated since early unit operation in 2011, therefore its performance may has decreased due to fouling. Considering the significant role of HPH, it is important to analyze its performance. Analysis is done by comparing between heater performance in early operation in 2011 and in 2015. If performance decrease is found, the cause and solution should be determined. The object of analysis is HPH #1 Unit #20. Calculated performance indicators includes terminal temperature difference (TTD), drain cooler approach (DCA), Extraction steam flow rate (ṁ), overall heat transfer coefficient (U), and effectiveness (ɛ). Data of parameters required in calculation are obtained from operation monitoring computer in central control room. Control variable used in analysis are heat transfer area and unit load 300 MW. From the result of the analysis, an increase in TTD value of 3,09 °C and DCA value of 2,38°C were found due to inacuracy of drain level meter in drain level regulator system and it is needed to fix the level meter. There is an increase of 0,551 ton/hour in ṁ value due to errotion of restriction orifice in extraction steam supply line. To solve this, the orifice plate should be replaced with a new one, or throttling should be applied to extractin steam line check valve. There is a decrease of 0,25 kJ/m2/s/°C in U value due to fouling. To handle this, further research should be taken to discover fouling condition and consider the most proper cleaning method. A decrease of 0,002 in effectiveness value was found and is relatively small. Keywords : effectiveness, heater
