Meanwhile, a housewife group placed first rank, 25.5% of the total cases. One of the government’s efforts to decrease HIV/AIDS cases through i mobile VCT had not significantly increased participations of housewives in doing an HIV test. The aim of this study was to identify factors influencing a housewife’s willingness to do an HIV test. This was a quantitative study using an Explanatory Survey method and a cross-sectional approach. Number of samples were 186 housewives divided into 93 housewives who did an HIV test and 93 housewives who did not do an HIV test selected using a technique of purposive sampling. Data were collected by conducting direct interview using a structured questionnaire and analysed using t and Mann-Whitney tests. The results of this research showed that among housewives who did an HIV test, more than half of them were categorised as young age (56.8%), had basic educational level (50.7%), had good knowledge (52.5%), had a family income less than Regional Minimum Wage (RMW) (51.6%), had a positive attitude (55.3%), were close to a service access (53.7%), had lack of information access (51.1%), had a husband’s support (74.4%), had a friend’s support (63.6%), and had a health worker’s support (53.1%). There were any significant differences between housewives who did and did not do an HIV test in terms of the husband’s support (p=0.0001) and the friend’s support (p=0.0001). On the other hand, there were no significant differences between these two groups in terms of the age, education, knowledge, income, attitude, service access, information access, and a health worker’s support. Husbands and friends who often do communication with the respondents influenced their willingness to do an HIV test. Health Centre and District Health Office need to improve community’s knowledge particularly among heads of households regarding HIV/AIDS and an HIV test.
