Abstract

Kebutuhan pemanasan awal untuk udara pembakaran pada boiler sekarang ini menjadi suatu keharusan sebagai usaha untuk meningkatkan efisiensi boiler. Rotary air preheater digunakan untuk pemanasan awal (preheater) pada saat pembakaran di dalam ruang bakar terjadi, khususnya pada Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU). Udara pembakaran yang dibutuhkan di ruang bakar diharapkan memiliki temperatur yang lebih tinggi agar menghasilkan pembakaran yang lebih sempurna. Apabila air preheater dioperasikan beberapa waktu, maka akan terjadi penurunan unjuk kerja dari alat tersebut. Penurunan unjuk kerja bisa jadi disebabkan oleh terbentuknya kerak, korosi, kebocoran (leakage) maupun aliran fluida yang menyebabkan friksi terhadap dinding alat Tujuan dari perhitungan performa ini adalah membandingkan seberapa besar penurunan kinerja air preheater sejak awal operasi pada beban 100%. Perbandingan yang digunakan adalah data saat awal operasi, data kondisi operasi bulan Oktober 2014, dan data kondisi operasi pada bulan April 2015. Dalam kasus ini Efisiensi air preheater pada saat awal operasi hingga bulan April 2015 mengalami penurunan sebesar 7,21 % pada APH A, dan 9,3 % pada APH B. Hal ini menunjukkan jumlah panas yang hilang terus meningkat karena terbentuknya kerak di permukaan plat perpindahan panas, penurunan tekanan, dan kebocoran udara, sehinggga proses perpindahan panas yang terjadi belum bisa optimal. Kata kunci : perpindahan panas, air preheater, efisiensi The need for combustion air preheating the boiler now become a necessity in an attempt to improve the efficiency of the boiler. Rotary air pre-heater is used to preheat (preheater) during combustion in the combustion chamber occurs, especially in Steam Power Plant (CPP). Required combustion air in the combustion chamber is expected to have a higher temperature in order to produce a more complete combustion. If water preheater operated some time, there will be a decline in the performance of these tools. Decline in performance could be due to scaling, corrosion, leakage (leakage) as well as fluid flow that causes friction against the wall plate. The purpose of this is to compare the performance calculation how much air preheater decline in performance since the start of operations at 100% load. Comparison of the data used is at the beginning of the operation, the operating condition data in October 2014, and the operating condition data in April 2015. In this case the efficiency of water preheater at the beginning of the operation until the month of April 2015 decreased by 7.21% on APH A, and 9.3% at APH B. this shows the amount of heat lost continues to rise due to the formation of a crust on the surface of the heat transfer plate, pressure drop, and leakage of air, so as heat transfer process that occurs can not be optimal.
