Abstract

The background of this research is the management function of room head has not been good as a function of planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring in addition to the motivation of nurses in providing nursing care in inpatient room is still low. This study aims to determine the relationship management function execution chamber head with the motivation of nurses in providing nursing care in inpatient Semarang Hospital. This study used a descriptive design with cross sectional approach to identify how the implementation of relationship management functions head of room with the motivation of nurses in providing nursing care in inpatient Semarang Hospital. Population in this research is 203 nurses who served in 13 inpatient rooms. The total sample of this research is 149 nurses through a proportional random sampling and questionnaires given management functions of head space and motivation questionnaire nurses. The process of data analysis using chi square test to test the implementation of relationship management functions with the motivation of room head. The results showed the implementation of the management functions of the head of the room was well over 50%, well motivated nurses 54.4%. There is a significant relationship between the management functions of planning and motivation of nurses (p value 0.001); there is a significant relationship between the management functions of the organization with the motivation of nurses (p value 0.001); there is a significant correlation between management function directing the motivation of nurses (p value 0.001); there is a significant relationship between the management functions of supervision and motivation of nurses (p value 0.001). The conclusion that the relationship between the management functions of room head with the motivation of nurses in providing nursing care in inpatient Semarang Hospital are good in average.
