Abstract

Proses pembakaran sempurna batubara di dalam boiler sangat sulit dicapai karena pada kenyataannya tidak semua oxygen dapat bereaksi dengan unsur-unsur di dalam batubara. Oleh karena itu, untuk menjamin terlaksananya proses pembakaran sempurna diperlukan adanya udara berlebih (excess air). Excess air akan membawa panas keluar melalui cerobong, maka bilangan excess air harus tepat dan sesuai agar tidak menurunkan efisiensi boiler. Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi bilangan excess air secara kalkulasi berdasarkan metode O2 content dan berdasarkan pengaruh dari O2 content, udara teoritis, dan volume of dry product pada variasi beban PLTU 1 Jawa Barat Indramayu. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa bilangan excess air mengalami kecenderungan untuk turun terhadap kenaikan beban. Bilangan excess air paling besar terjadi pada beban 158MW, sedangkan yang optimal menurut grafik excess air – heat loss adalah pada beban 320MW. Hasil kalkulasi excess air pada economizer outlet dan air preheater outlet memiliki selisih, hal ini mengindikasikan terjadinya kebocoran pada air preheater., maka dari itu dilakukan evaluasi, analisa, koreksi, terhadap unjuk kerja untuk mendapatkan hasil yang optimal. Kata kunci: Excess Air, Pembakaran sempurna, O2 content. Complete combustion process inside boiler is very difficult to achieve because in fact not all amount of oxygen can be reacted with elements of coal as fuel. Therefore, to guarantee the process of complete combustion, excess air is needed. Excess air will carry heat out by stack, then number of excess air should be ideal in order not to decrease boiler efficiency. This final project aims to evaluate the calculation of excess air number by O2 method and by influence from O2 content, theortical air, and volume of dry product at variation load PLTU 1 Jawa Barat Indramayu. The evaluation shows that number of excess air tends to decrease with increasing of load. The highest number of excess air was at 158MW load, in other hand the optimum number was at 320MW load. The result of calculation at economizer outlet and air preheater shows a difference. The difference indicates there would be a leakage at air preheater, then it must be evaluated, analyzed, and corrected, towards the performance to get an optimal result.
