Abstract

Dalam dunia kelistrikan kinerja sebuah PLTU sangat penting, sehingga pasokan bahan bakar yang berkualitas penting untuk menjaga kinerja PLTU. Salah satu hal yang bisa djadikan tolak ukur dalam kinerja PLTU adalah Net Plant Heat Rate, yaitu jumlah energy yang dibutuhkan untuk menghasilkan 1 kwh listrik. Tujuan dari penulisan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi penurunan kinerja sebuah PLTU apabila beroperasi menggunakan batubara Lowrank. Metodologi yang digunakan memiliki beberapa langkah utama, yaitu pengumpulan data, perhitungan efisiensi boiler, perhitungan Turbine Heat Rate, dan perhitungan Net Plant Heat rate, yang dilakukan pada dua kondisi operasi. Berdasrkan perhitungan yang dilakukan rata efisiensi boiler pada kondisi operasi menggunakan batubara lowrank mengalami penurunan sebesar 2,5 %, dibandingkan saat beroperasi menggunakan batubara campuran lowrank dan mid rank. Tetapi Net plant heat rate saat beroperasi dengan batubara lowrank mengalami kenaikan sebesar 64 kcal/kwh, menjadi 2624,548 kcal/kWh yang berarti lebih banyak kalor dalam hal ini batubara, yang dibutuhkan untuk membangkitkan 1 kWh listrik. Kata Kunci : Net Plant Heat Rate, batubara, low rank, mid rank, efisiensi,boiler turbin On the electricity industries, power plant performance is very important, therefore the high quality coal supply become more important to maintain power plant performance. One thing that can indicate power plant performance is Net Plant Heat Rate, that’s mean number of energy needed to produce 1 kWh of electricity. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the decreasing of powerplant performance when operate with Low Rank Coal. This method has some principal step such as collecting data sample, calculating boiler efficiencies, calculating of turbine heat rate, and calculating Net Plant Heat Rate calculation thats all did in two operation condition. Based on the calculation, the boiler efficiency average when operate with Low Rank Coal has decrease in the amount of 2,5 % if compared to boiler efficiecncy when operate with mix coal. Beside, the Net Plant Heat Rate average when operate with Low Rank Coal has increase 64 kCal/kWh become 2624,548 kCal/kWh. Which mean more energy needed to produce 1kWh of electric.
