Abstract
Background: World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates 60% patients in primary health care getting antibiotic irrational. Pediatric is the highest risk group getting improper antibiotic. Diagnosis and pediatric age influence antibiotic use. Aim : Analize the correlation between age and diagnosis with the rationality use of antibiotic. Method : This study is observational retrospective with cross sectional design. Subject is 173 pediatric medical records who got antibiotic in Puskesmas Rowosari Semarang at Januari – Desember 2014. Rationality use of antibiotic is reviewed by 3 experts using gyssen plot. Chi Square test and Fisher Exact test is used for statistical analysis. Result : There’s 30,6% rational use of antibiotic and 69,4% irrational use. Most of irrational use of antibiotic is gyssen V (not proper indication). Chi Square test shows no relation between age and rationality use of antibiotic (p=0,604). Diagnosis ARI (p =0,006) and gastroenteritis (p=0,000) has correlation with rationality use of antibiotic. Diagnosis fever (p=0,273) and skin infection (p=0,086) is not correlated with the rationality use of antibiotic. Conclusion : Most of antibiotic use in pediatric at Puskesmas Rowosari Semarang is not rational. There is correlation between diagnosis (ARI and gastroenteritis) with the rationality use of antibiotic. Age, diagnosis (fever, skin infection) is not correlated with the rationality use of antibiotic. Keywords : rationality use of antibiotic, age, diagnosis, puskesmas, pediatric
