Abstract
Background : The incidence of placenta previa keeps going up. Placenta previa with hemorrhage increased maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Therefore, it was important to determine maternal and perinatal outcome in antepartum hemorrhage particularly caused by abnormal implantation site of placenta. Aim : To compare maternal and perinatal outcome in delivery with antepartum hemorrhage caused by abnormal implantation site of placenta. Methods : It was desctiptive analytic study with cross sectional design. Data was obtained from medical record in Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang during 1 January 2013 – 31 December 2014. Chi-square/Fisher exact test and logistic regresion was used for hypothetical analysis. Results : Subjects with complete placenta previa were 76,6% (49 subjects), with incomplete/marginal placenta previa were 3,1% (2 subjects) and with low-lying placenta were 20,3% (13 subjects). The incidence of anemia was 54,7%, cesarean delivery was 89,1%, prematurity was 50% and LBW was 40,9%. Bivariat analysis suggested that placenta previa was at risk for cesarean delivery, prematurity (OR 4,39 with CI 95% 1,079-17,893) and LBW (OR 4,88 with CI 95% 0,983-24,308). Multivariate analysis indicated insignificant result. Conclusion : Antepartum hemorrhage caused by abnormal implantation site of placenta resulted in maternal morbidity and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Placenta previa had greater risk for cesarean delivery, prematurity and LBW compared to low-lying placenta. Overall the type of abnormal placental location had no effect on maternal dan perinatal outcome. Key words : abnormal implantation site of placenta, maternal outcome, perinatal outcome
