Abstract

Marine sector, coastal and fisheries is a sub-sector which is strongly influenced by climate change. It is a bit much affect the coastal communities, where fishers cannot adjust to the climate change phenomena and then they will lose. This research aims to (1) Identifying the symptoms of climate change to fishers capture communities on the north coast of Semarang city; (2) Analyzing the impact of climate change on fishers capture communities in the north coast city of Semarang; and (3) Estimating the impact of the economic losses fishers capture on climate change in the north coast city of Semarang. Object of this research is a fishers capture on the north coast city of Semarang. Purposive sampling is used to choose 112 respondents fishers capture. Descriptive statistics with economic valuation and cost - return analysis has been used in this research. The results showed that there are some symptoms of climate change that affect the production activity fishers capture in the north coast city of Semarang include: rainfall, wind speed, and wave. The impact of climate change on the fishers capture communities in the north coast city of Semarang is a changes in the volume of the catch of each month and changes in the number of months at sea. Impact of economic losses of climate change on fishers capture communities in the north coast city of Semarang is on the reduction of fishing trips during months and caused the decreased the number of catches and on revenue.
