PENGARUH KETERSEDIAAN KOLEKSI TERHADAP MINAT KUNJUNG MAHASISWA DI UPT PERPUSTAKAAN POLITEKNIK NEGERI SEMARANG

Abstract

The title of this research is about “The effect of collection availability to the interest of students’ visit at UPT Semarang State Polytechnic Library”. The main purpose of the research is to evaluate the impact of collection availability to the visit interest of Semarang State Polytechnic students. The kind of these research is quantitative with descriptive analysis technique using survey estimations. The sampled population is Semarang State Polytechnic students visiting library in 2013 with the number of students is 195.050. The sampling decisions are set by applying slovin formula with the figure of tolerance is 10%, therefore it could be reached 100 respondents as samples. The implementation of sampling acquired techniques are incidental sampling procedures which are unintentional sampling decision methods, whoever unintentionally meet to the researcher up can be considered as samples. The data gathering techniques on this research are treated by using questionnaires, observations, interviews and study of documentations. The measurement of variable deals with likert scale. Data analysis application is descriptive analysis which is processed by SPSS program version 16. According to the analysis regresi linier result using SPSS 16, the test influence of Cronbach Alpha’s indicator > 0,60 therefore collection availability and the visit interest is reliable. The result of these research shows that collection availability has various effects on the visit interest of UPT Semarang Stat Polytechnique library. Whereas, the result based on the determination coefficient value is 0.255. The final obtained value is 25.5%, thus it can be concluded that the collection availability can influence on the visit interest about 25,5%.
