Abstract

The research is “Pos Baca “Medika” as the Promotional Strategy of Regional Library and Archive in Semarang Regency (a Qualitative Study about Pos Baca “Medika” in RSUD Ungaran). The purposes of this study are (1) to determine and describe the given circulation service in promotional program of Pos Baca “Medika” in RSUD Ungaran, (2) to determine and describe how Pos Baca “Medica” attracts the visitor’s interest in reading in RSUD Ungaran as a part of promotional program, and (3) to determine and describe the promotional strategy of Regional Library and Archive in Semarang Regency through Pos Baca “Medika” as an attempt to establish reading habit in RSUD Ungaran. This study uses qualitative research with case study as the research method. There are nine informants in this study, which consist of one head section of service of Regional Library and Archive in Semarang Regency, one staff of Regional Library and Archive in Semarang Regency, one staff of Pos Baca “Medika”, and six visitors of Pos Baca “Medika”. This study uses qualitative data using written words and the sources of the data are from primary and secondary source. The applied data collecting techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. Milez and Huberman’s analysis technique is used for data analyzing in this study. The result analysis of this study indicates that the promotional of Regional Library and Archive in Semarang Regency by Pos Baca “Medika” has been good enough to attract the habit of reading society in RSUD Ungaran by utilizing marketing mix strategy 4P (Product, Price, Place, and Promotion).
