ANALISIS LATAR BELAKANG PENDIDIKAN TERHADAP KINERJA PETUGAS PERPUSTAKAAN (Studi Kasus Layanan Sirkulasi di KantorPerpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Kabupaten Banjarnegara)

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and analyze the effect of educational background toward performance library staff: a case study of circulation service at Kantor Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Kabupaten Banjarnegara. This research applies the methods of qualitative research and the case study. The technique of informant selection uses purposive sampling, involving 10 informants consisting of 5 library staff and 5 users. The methods of collecting data are observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique that is used in this research is the analysis of Miles and Huberman. The result of this study shows that is good empathy of librarian staff with S-1, D-3 and Senior High School educational background. The librarian staff with Bachelor Degree (S-1) educational background can service users well, while the librarian taff who have Diploma (D-3) and Senior High School educational background cannot service the users well. However, the responsiveness of librarian staff who have Bachelor Degree (S-1), Diploma (D-3) and Senior High School educational background in giving service is still not good. Based on the ability of the librarian staff, it can be concluded that the performance of the librarian staff who have Bachelor Degree (S-1) educational background is better than the librarian staff who have Diploma (D-3) and Senior High School educational background. Therefore, educational background influence the performance of the librarian staff.
