ASPEK KEMANFAATAN LAYANAN STORYTELLING DI PERPUSTAKAAN DAERAH PROVINSI JAWA TENGAH BAGI ANAK

Abstract

This thesis discusses “Expediency Aspect of Storytelling Service at the Regional Library of Central Java Province.” The aim of this research is to find out if there is a benefit of storytelling service for children at the Regional Library of Central Java Province. This research uses qualitative research type. The sampling in this research uses purposive sampling, and informant types, namely key informants and regular informants. The data collection methods use observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the data analysis result of the result of research conducted by the researcher is as follows: library users are happy to be spending time at the children services of Regional Library of Central Java Province, adequate facility on storytelling programs gives satisfaction to library users, the motivation of wanting to listen to stories again is really true, because during storytelling activities, library users listen to and follow the story attentively. The implementation of storytelling program causes children curiosity regarding the stories characters to emerge which then might affect children personality; moral message values in the stories are beneficial as a way of education for children. Thus, there are many benefits gained through storytelling program at the Regional Library of Central Java Province
