Abstract
Centrifuge is a tool that can be used to separate mixtures by centrifugation techniques. Using centrifugal separation principle that objects rotated horizontally at a certain distance. If the object rotates in the tube or cylinder containing liquid mixture danp article, then the mixture can move toward the center of rotation, but this should not happen because of the opposing forces were moving towards the outer wall of the cylinder or tube suitable specific gravity of each particle, the style is the style of centrifugation. Style is what causes the particles to the tube wall and accumulate to form aendapan.Dengan this technique, a material deposition process will be faster and optimum compared with the usual techniques. The main purpose of this centrifuge separation process is the separation of soap and get the results as well as high yield value on different variables (speed and centrifugationperiode). Stages of separation of soap on saponification process, namely: (1) prepare cooking oil and NaOH solution, (2) heat the oil mixture and NaOH 850C while stirring for 1 hour, (3) separate mixed with funnel separator, grab the soap layer, (4) do centrifugation on a layer of soap, grab the soap generated and (5) soap analyzed. Variables used sentrifugasi speed (1000rpm and 1375rpm) and the time of centrifugation (2 minutes, 4 minutes, 6 minutes, 8 minutes, and 10 minutes). Soap is the best result in optimal condition in experiment 2 with speeds up to 1375rpm and time of centrifugation centrifugation for 10 minutes with soap gained as much as 18,36 grams and the total soap obtained in experiment 2 is 65,60 grams with a yield of 52.48% .
