Abstract

Alat penukar panas atau Heat Exchanger (HE) adalah alat yang digunakan untuk memindahkan panas dari sistem ke sistem lain tanpa perpindahan massa dan bisa berfungsi sebagai pemanas maupun sebagai pendingin. Salah satu aplikasinya pada pembangkit listrik tenaga uap (PLTU), alat ini digunakan sebagai pemanas bahan bakar alat ini berfungsi untuk meningkatkan efisiensi. Kemampuan heat exchanger ditentukan dari nilai NTU dan Effectiveness. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk menguji performa NTU dan Effectiveness. Heat exchanger yang akan diuji, dirancang dan dibuat sendiri. Alat ini terdiri dari bak penampungan air, pompa air, pemanas air, dan shell and tube. Alat ini diuji dengan media air akan yang dipanaskan dengan pemanas air dengan daya 3000W dan disirkulasikan dengan pompa dengan laju air panas 5 lpm dan laju air dingin 4l pm dengan mengatur katup by pass, dengan pengambilan data sebanyak 9 kali. Dari hasil pengujian dan analisa data dapat disimpulkan bahwa harga koefisien perpindahan panas keseluruhan berada pada rentang 80.387 W/m^2℃ sampai 155.862 W/m^2℃. Dan nilai kapasitas heat exchanger berada pada rentang 2396.533W sampai 2995.666W. Dari hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa heat exchanger ini baik. Kata kunci : heat, exchanger, NTU, effectiveness. Heat exchanger or heat exchanger ( HE ) is a device used to transfer heat from the system to other systems without mass transfer and can function as a heater and as a coolant. One application in steam power plant ( power plant) , the tool is used as a heating fuel this tool serves to increase efficiency . The ability of the heat exchanger is determined from the value of NTU and Effectiveness . This final project aims to test the performance of NTU and Effectiveness . Heat exchanger to be tested , designed and made himself . This device consists of a water tank , water pump , water heater , and the shell and coil . This tool will be tested with an aqueous medium that is heated by the water heater with power 3000W and circulated by a pump at a rate of 5 lpm hot water and cold water rate of 4 lpm with regulating valve bypass , with data collection as much as 9 times. From the results of the testing and analysis of the data it can be concluded that the overall heat transfer coefficient is in the range 80, 387 W/m^2℃. to 155,862 W/m^2℃. And the value of the capacity of the heat exchanger is in the range 2396.533W until 2995.666W . From these results indicate that the heat exchanger is good .
