KARAKTERISTIK DAN PERAN ISTRI NELAYAN DALAM PENDAPATAN KELUARGA NELAYAN DI KOTA PEKALONGAN

Abstract

Family fishing in Indonesia is still identical to the disadvantaged families. It can be seen from the fishing conditions in Indonesia are still deficient in meeting the needs of his family. Moreover, the work is the work of fishermen who depend on natural conditions so that fishermen can not at any time for fishing. Under these conditions, a wife feels the need to help in making a living to meet the needs of families of fishermen. This makes the dual role as a fisherman's wife housewife and breadwinner. In the districts of North Pekalongan, Pekalongan, most residents work as fishermen. Wives of fishermen, mostly wives of fishermen trying to support their families by working fishermen. From the results of the working wives of fishermen can help supplement the family income of fishermen. To work fisherman's wife certainly has its own motivation for doing the work. So the purpose of this study was to analyze: (1) characteristics and the role of the fisherman's wife in Pekalongan, (2) the factors that affect the income of fishermen in Pekalongan wife. (3) Efforts to improve the wife of a fisherman in the family income of fishermen. The results showed that the characteristics of the fisherman's wife working as a trader 50 % , self-employed workers and 36.67 % and 13.33 % fisherman's wife's role in family income contribution fisherman average 36.02 % . The results of cross-tab analysis showed that factors outpouring of work time and type of work and a significant positive effect on the income of fishermen wives. With a double play, wife of fisherman can help meet the needs of families of fishermen. With the growing need, the fisherman 's wife is getting motivated to work
