Abstract

Tujuan pelaksanaan tugas akhir ini adalah memahami tentang kerja Sea Water Booster Pump dan juga untuk mengetahui efisiensi Sea Water Booster Pump berdasarkan perhitungan. Proses pengerjaan Tugas Akhir ini meliputi tiga tahap. Pertama, tahapan persiapan. Kedua, tahapan pengumpulan data. Ketiga, tahapan pengolahan data. Fluida yang mengalir pada sistem ini adalah air laut. Dari hasil analisa data dapat disimpulkan bahwa, efisiensi pompa dari awal operasi yaitu pada Bulan Oktober 2011 sampai Bulan Maret 2013 mengalami penurunan efisiensi sebesar 9,1% yang disebabkan oleh menurunnya kapasitas air yang masuk ke pompa. Hal ini selain menyebabkan efisiensi menurun juga mengakibatkan proses pertukaran panas pada Closed Cooling Water Heat Exchanger akan terganggu yang mengakibatkan temperatur minyak pelumas yang berfungsi mendinginkan peralatan berputar pada unit Boiler maupun Turbin akan naik. Kata kunci : pompa sentrifugal, kapasitas, head. The aim of this thesis is to understand about the workings of Sea Water Booster Pump and also to determine the efficiency of Sea Water Booster Pump is based on the calculation. Process of final project includes three phases. First, the stages of preparation. Second, the data collection stage. Third, the data processing stage. Fluid flow in this system is the sea water. From the data analysis it can be concluded that, the efficiency of the pump from the start of operations in October 2011 until March 2013 Month efficiency decreased by 9.1% due to reduced capacity of the water that goes into the pump. This is in addition to lead decreases the efficiency of the heat exchange process also resulted in the Closed Cooling Water Heat Exchanger will be disrupted resulting temperature lubricant that serves to cool the rotating equipment in the boiler and turbine unit will rise.
