Abstract

Energy comsumption in works of architecture associated with the six stages of the circulation of materials : raw materials, production, construction, maintenance, demolition, and disposal. In addiction to the six stages, th energy consumption is also determined by the design of building. Building design that is intended in this case is the spatial space that allows the creation of an optimal comfort. Leisure space is related to the energy of thermal comfort / aeration and natural lighting to allow any part of the building is cool and getting enough light throughout the day. Thus, the use of assistive devices for air conditioning and lighting can be reduced to conserve energy use. In addition to creating a comfortable space, building design should also allow an optimal use of building materials and availability of green open spaces. Raw materials and production prosesses are relates to the choice of materials to be used. Determination of building materials to be used should be pay attention to the environmental balance. Energy of the construction is the energy contained (required) since building materials are available at the construction site until the completion of the development process. This is related to the use of technology during the construction process. Maintenance energies calculated from the development process has een completed and the scope includes the use and maintenance of buildings. Energy of the use in amount of energy needed at a particular time period. The amount is includes the energy used for lighting and running support tools. Maintenance energy is determined by the choise of building materials. Some things that must be considered related to the energy of demolition and disposal is to reuse and recycle as much as possible. With the steps above then ecological sustainability can be maintained.
