Abstract

ABSTRAK Perkembangan media utamanya pertelevisian Indonesia ditandai dengan tumbuh suburnya industri–industri kreatif. Sayangnya stasiun televisi masih menggunakan terminologi lama yang menilai bahwa masyarakat bersifat pasif terhadap tayangan televisi. Stasiun televisi belum sepenuhnya menyadari bahwa khalayak telah mulai aktif untuk memilih program yang mereka minati, sehingga mereka masih saja mengacu pada rating sebagai dasar pertimbangan produksi acara. Jika talk show dinilai menjadi tayangan yang berkualitas, justru masih ada anggapan dari stasiun televisi yang menilai bahwa program talk show tidak menarik, bahkan dinilai merugi. Seiring dengan kesadaran yang mulai tumbuh di stasiun televisi Indonesia, maka bermunculan program talk show turut meramaikan persaingan produksi acara televisi. Namun sampai saat ini acara televisi Indonesia lebih didominasi oleh talk show yang murah dan menghibur, dalam arti belum memperhatikan aspek kredibilitas host dan kualitas isi program untuk menarik perhatian dan memuaskan penonton. Salah satu tayangan talk show di Indonesia yang menonjol adalah “kick Andy” yang dibuktikan dengan hasil survey dari lembaga Sain dan Estetika (SET), yayasan TIFA dan Ikatan Jurnalis Televisi Indonesia sebagai program televisi terbaik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kredibilitas host dan kualitas isi program dengan tingkat kepuasan menonton acara talk show. Upaya menjawab permasalahan dan tujuan penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan teori Uses and Gratification Palmgreen dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Responden penelitian adalah kalangan dosen Politeknik Negeri Semarang Jurusan Akuntansi. Hasil uji statistik, hipotesis adanya hubungan positif antara kredibilitas host dengan kepuasan menonton tayangan talk show “kick Andy” terbukti ditunjukkan dengan nilai r hitung sebesar 0,601 melebihi nilai r tabel sebesar 0,246 dan nilai α<0,05 sebesar 0,000. Hipotesis adanya hubungan positif antara kualitas program dengan kepuasan menonton tayangan talk show ”kick Andy” terbukti, ditunjukkan dengan nilai r hitung sebesar 0,624 melebihi nilai r tabel sebesar 0,246 dan nilai α<0,05 sebesar 0,000. Terdapat pula hubungan positif antara kredibilitas host dan kualitas isi program dengan kepuasan menonton tayangan talk show “kick Andy” ditunjukkan dengan nilai r hitung sebesar 0,667 melebihi nilai r tabel sebesar 0,246 dan nilai α<0,05 yaitu sebesar 0,000. Implikasi dari pentingnya posisi host menuntut perlunya upaya untuk terus meningkatkan kredibilitas host. Dari sisi kualitas isi program, kreator-kreator pertelevisian dituntut untuk menampilkan sesuatu yang baru dalam gagasan, format dan sajian, serta memiliki format yang bervariasi. Oleh karena itu perlu untuk terus melakukan inovasi untuk mengantisipasi ketatnya persaingan dalam dunia penyiaran, khususnya pada program talk show di tanah air. Key Words: Talk show, Kredibilitas Host, Kualitas Isi Program, Kepuasan Menonton ABSTRACT The enormous development of mass media primarily television content in Indonesia has been remarked by arising of creative industries. Unhappily, the television stations are still adopting old-fashioned terminology that assessing public is such passive entity toward television content. The television stations are not entirely aware that public has actively selecting program shows of their best interest, therefore, such stations still referring to rating as basic assessment of consideration toward shows production. In case the talk show is considered as qualified content, in other side, there existed some television stations which considering that talk show programs are not interesting anymore and even creating loss. Along with the nurtured awareness on television station in Indonesia, then growth of talk show programs are also competing in production of television shows. But, till recently, such television shows in Indonesia are more dominated by cheaply and amusing talk show, in meaning it has not considered the host credibility aspect and content quality of program to attract and satisfy the audience. One of talk shows in Indonesia that prominent is entitled “kick Andy” , declared as the best television program by Lembaga Sain dan Estetika (SET), TIFA foundation, and Ikatan Jurnalis Televisi Indonesia. This observation is aimed to determine the relationship of host credibility and program content quality toward satisfaction level of watching the talk show. The effort answering problem question and observation purposes was conducted through Uses and Gratification Palmgreen theory by using quantitative method. The observation respondents were the lecturer of Politeknik Negeri Semarang of Accounting Department. From the statistics test result, it was giving hypothesis of existed positive relationship between host credibility with satisfaction of watching the talk show “kick Andy” that proved by r-count value as 0,601 higher than value of r –count table as 0,246 and a-value <0,05 as 0,000. The hypothesis of existed positive relationship between host credibility with satisfaction of watching the talk show “kick Andy” was proved, shown by r-count value as 0,624 that higher than r-count table as 0,246 and a-value <0,05 as 0,000. There also existed relationship between host credibility and program quality with satisfaction of watching the talk show “kick Andy” by r-count value as 0,667 that higher than r-count table as 0,246 and value a<0,05 that is 0,000. It was concluded that host position demanding for effort to keep maintain the host credibility. And also considering from the program content quality, the creators of television programs shall capable representing newest issues in idea, formation and content, and representing varied formation. Therefore it is need to keep improving innovation to anticipate tight competition in realm of broadcasting especially in talk show program in Indonesia.
