Abstract

ABSTRAC PDAM Klaten city uses standard water of wellspring and ground-water. Wellspring which used is from Geneng wellspring and Lanang wellspring. Geneng wellspring placed in Ngrundul village which have source capacity 213 lt/sec, capacity permission 213 lt/sec and used 150 lt/sec. It has source capacity 88 lt/sec and used 50 lt/sec. Seeing that capacity utilization of wellspring was imbalance that is between water discharges more large than service area, so the reservation of water from the water spring as standard water to fresh water suggestion in PDAM Klaten was brokenreed and there is need alternatives of other standard source water, that is from Deep Well from Sumur Dalam Gayamprit which have capacity 15 lt/sec. The quality of water spring which stem from deep well has more content of Fe and Mangan which the content of Fe 2.4 mg/lt. Based on that analysis, the processing unit to separate out of iron which consists of aeration unit, roughing filter and filtration cannot separate out of iron-content optimally. That is visible from the monitoring result of Fe content from the efluen unit IPA, that is has content of iron 0.82 mg/lt. Whereas institutional setting of drink water quality corresponding with regulation of MENKES RI No.907/ MENKES/ VII/2002 that is 0.3 mg/lt. There is need standard unit IPA for that case to process that standard water, so there is need evaluation and optimalization of Water Treatment Unit to follow up that effort to solve the problems of standard water.
