Abstract

ABSTRACT Energy plays a very important role in people's lives because energy is an important parameter for development and economic growth. Almost all sectors of life (industry, transport, households, services, etc.) can not be separated from the energy. In the household sector, the energy used for lighting, cooking, refrigeration or heating and the use of motor vehicles for daily activities. Nowadays more and more household appliances that use energy to utilization thereby increasing emissions. Problems often arise related energy consumption of the household sector is the disparity (difference) in the energy consumption of the poor to the rich communities. Problems arise when the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere increases. With increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases, the more heat is retained on the surface of the earth and will cause the earth's surface temperature to be increased. These higher temperatures may result in a very extreme climate changes on Earth. Changes in air temperature also occurred in Semarang district especially in ungaran. Previous air turns cool now being more heat. The primary data were obtained by direct observation or interviews. Research conducted in the area of three (3) housing in Semarang district (Sebantengan Housing, Housing gedang Asri, Susukan RW 07). Energy use in the household includes LPG / Kerosene, fuel for motor vehicles and electricity. The parameters used are the CO2 emissions from the household activities. To get the amount of carbon emissions, energy consumption is obtained by multiplying the emission factor The result showed that CO2 emissions are the largest direct sebantengan housing by 51% at follow gedang Asri housing by 42% and the lowest emitters are Susukan rw 07 villages of 7%. Secondary biggest CO2 emitters are residential sebantengan with a percentage of 42% at follow gedang Asri housing at 38% while the lowest emitters of CO2 secondary is Asri pawpaw housing that is equal to 20%. Largest CO2 emitters are sebantengan total of 42% followed by 32% Susukan rw 07 and last 20% of housing gedang Asri. Housing sebantengan largest CO2 emissions because energy consumption premium fuel, LPG and electricity are higher than the others so that the total emissions were bigger from those of others. From the results of this study concluded that differences in the level of housing affect household energy use and CO2 emissions. the higher the economic level, the greater the energy consumption. The larger the resulting CO2 emissions, the greater the formation of greenhouse gases as the main factor causing global warming. To reduce the risk of global warming due to CO2 emissions from household energy use, every house recommended for planting green plants or trees so that the carbon can be absorbed again by the trees. Beside it each household shall make savings on energy. Keywords: housing, household energy, CO2 emissions, greenhouse gases, global warming
