Abstract
Seyyed Hossein Nasr is one of the contemporary Islamic philosophers who has written a lot of academic works. According to Nasr, Islamic literature and philosophy should be born from The Holy Qur’an and Al-Hadith. It is the Holy Qur’an which contains philosophical term. Therefore, to understand philosophical history, the relationship between Al-Qur’an and Al-Hadith and Islamic Philosophy should be taken into account. Based on this perspective, it is understood that without the Holy Qur’ an, Islamic philosophy would not have been in existence as it is now. A deeper study of Islamic philosophy over its twelve-hundred-year history will reveal the role of the role of the Our’ an and Hadith in the formulation, exposition and problematic of this major philosophical tradition.
