Abstract

ABSTRAK Fariha Ainun Azkia. 21080111400058. Conformity of Mangrove Ecosystems and Ecotourism Development Strategy in Tambaksari, Bedono Village, Sayung District, Demak Regency. Sutrisno Anggoro and Tukiman Taruna. The height of abrasion and exploitation trend of mangrove forests for infrastructure development, housing and industryhave led to environmental degradation of coastal ecosystems which resulted in a number of mangrove forests reduced even damaged, in such a way so should attempt mangrove ecosystem elaboration by means of mangrove ecotourism activity as a method to preserve coastal ecosystems. This study aims to determine the mangrove vegetation condition and environmental quality in Tambaksari; to assess the conformity of ecotourism and ecotourism carrying capacity in mangrove areas of Tambaksari along by arranging the directional recommendations mangrove ecotourism strategic. The study method using descriptive analytic through quantitative and qualitative approaches by means of the analysis of the mangrove environment quality, mangrove water and sediment quality, ecotourism conformity, ecotourism carrying capacity and SWOT to provide information about potential and strategies for sustainable management of mangrove forests. The results showed Tambaksari which is a coastal area that has 23 ha of mangrove forest with the mangrove species of Avicennia marina, Rhizophora stylosa and Rhizophora mucronatahaving the environmental quality that conform the characteristics to growand assimilate of Avicennia sp and Rhizophora sp. Having a decent conformity to be developed as ecotourism mangrove with NKE amounting to 299 and a maximum tourism carrying capacity as many as 154 people/day by doing the tourism activities such as nature tourism, marine tourism and cultural tourism. According to the SWOT analysis results, gained five of strategic priorities for mangrove ecotourism development in the Tambaksari including a).Conduct the coordination between local communities and stakeholders starting from socialization, planning, implementation, and monitoring of mangrove ecotourism development concept;b). Conduct the spatial planning for ecotourism activities, road infrastructure improvement, drainage network, water distribution, public toilets construction, waste disposal system, and business unit supporting the tourist needs; c). Increase public knowledge about management and training of productive mangrove ecotourism marketing; d). Conduct the further studies on the impact analysis of tourism activities on the environment and growth of mangrove vegetation by means of periodic and continuous monitoring; and e).
