Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at latosol soil Tembalang, Semarang. The four population density are J1, J2, J3, J4 respectively 2, 4, 6, 8 plant/m2. The corn was planted at 75 cm distance between rows. The monoculture corn was applied 150 kg N/ha (urea), 150 kg P2O5 kg/ha (TSP) 150 kg K2O/ha (KCl) and 10 t/ha livestock manure as basic fertilizer. The height plants are not affected by plant population density. As highest plant population density are higher the Leaf Area Index (LAI). Regression relation model are Model Y = 0,87 + 0,5900 X (R = 0,9915). The reciprocal model of straw dry matter per plant are really decrease by quadratic as response of increase plant density population Y = 0,52 + 2,3836 X – 0,1400 X2 (R = 0,9689). The dry grain weight per plant are lower as higher plant population density with Regression relation model are Y = 5,31 + 0,9288 X (R = 0,9972). ABSTRAK Penelitian adalah percobaan lapang yang dilaksanakan di tanah latosol Tembalang Semarang. Terdapat empat kepadatan populasi yaitu J1, J2, J3, J4 berturut-turut : 2, 4, 6, 8 tanaman/m2. Jagung ditanam dengan jarak tanam 75 cm antar baris. Pertanaman tunggal jagung Hibrida dipupuk dengan 150 N kg/ha (Urea), 150 P2O5 kg/ha (TSP), 150 kg K2O/ha (KCl), dan 10 t/ha pupuk kandang sebagai pupuk dasar. Tinggi tanaman tidak dipengaruhi oleh kepadatan. Makin tinggi kepadatan populasi tanaman maka ILD tanaman jagung juga makin tinggi. Model hubungan regresi Y = 0,87 + 0,5900 X (R = 0,9915). Bobot bahan kering jerami per individu tanaman menunjukkan penurunan secara kuadratik akibat peningkatan kepadatan populasi tanaman, menurut model regresi resiprocal Y = 0,52 + 2,3836 X – 0,1400 X2 (R = 0,9689). Bobot BPK per individu tanaman makin rendah dengan meningkatnya kepadatan populasi tanaman. diperoleh hubungan regresi yaitu Y = 5,31 + 0,9288 X (R = 0,9972).
