Abstract
Text structure is the overall inter-relationship among elements which build thye text. Structuralism studies this inter-relationship. Structuraism studies this inter-relationship. Two branches of structuralism used in literary research are Russian Formalism and French Structuralism. Another branch of science which studies the structure of text is semiotics. Semiotics is the study of sign and everything related to it. According to pierce, there are there kinds of signs: icon, index, and symbol. Semiotics analysis is employed in the study of Rendra’s “Burung Terbakar”.
