Abstract
There are seven factors that cause the emergence of mixed code in the discourse of local news in the daily Suara Merdeka. The seventh factor is the absence of the right words, habits, assertion, educated assertion, color protrusion area, quoted opinion, and respect the person in question. Key words: causes, mixed code, the discourse of regional news, Suara Merdeka.
