Abstract
Alkaloid from Solaneous plant has several drug’s potents such as antibacterial, even as halusinogenic. This alkaloid from Datura metel is sintesized in root and accumulated in shoot. One of methods to the alkaloid production is by roots induction from leaves-derived callus/ rooted callus. Alkaloid production can be improved by modifying of micronutrients in MS (Murashige&Skoog) medium. The aim of this research is to study effect of increment of micronutrients concentration toward growth and total alkaloid on rooted callus. The culture was established from callus in MS without growth regulator with level of micronutrients. Growth culture was representated by fresh and dry weight, whereas total alkaloid content was analyzed by titrimetric method. Data were analyzed descriptively. The result showed that increasing of micronutrients concentration till 2,5-fold on MS medium inhibited growth of rooted callus. However, this condition couldn’t trigger the production of alkaloid compounds on culture.
