Abstract

ABSTRAK Kapasitas serap (absorptive capacity) perusahaan yang tinggi menunjukkan kemampuan perusahaan mengumpulkan informasi dari luar yang kemudian dapat digunakan untuk kepentingan perkembangan inovasi perusahaan. Informasi sendiri saat ini dipandang sebagai sumber daya strategis yang penting bagi perusahaan untuk dapat memiliki keunggulan bersaing. Perkembangan dunia otomotif yang pesat dan ketatnya persaingan dengan merek Jepang menyebabkan perusahaan PT. Triangle Motorindo sebagai produsen kendaraan bermotor merek Viar harus menentukan strategi inovasi yang dapat memiliki keunggulan bersaing. Kesuksesan dalam keunggulan bersaing tergantung bagaimana cara perusahaan mengoptimalkan kapasitas serap yang berdampak pada kegiatan modifikasi produk yang dilakukan perusahaan saat ini. Pada penelitian ini akan ditentukan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kapasitas serap yang disesuaikan dengan perusahaan dan seberapa besar pengaruhnya, serta pemberian usulan perbaikan demi pengoptimalan kapasitas serap. Pengukuran data dilakukan melalui survey dengan menggunakan kuisioner pada 153 karyawan di 7 departemen tertentu dalam perusahaan. Metode pengolahan data yang digunakan adalah Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan bantuan software AMOS 20.0. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa absorptive capacity berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kegiatan pengembangan produk baru, knowledge sharing capability dan kapasitas R&D memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap absorptive capacity, sedangkan kapasitas HRD tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap absorptive capacity. ABSTRACT High absorptive capacity demonstrated company's ability to collect information from the outside, which then can be used for the benefit of the innovation development. Knowledge is currently viewed as an important strategic resource in companies in order to gain competitive advantage. However, the rapid development of the automotive world and the intense competition with Japanese brand, led PT. Triangle Motorindo as Viar brand motor vehicle manufacturer, must determine competitive advantage innovation strategies. The success in generating competitive advantage will depend on how company optimized the absorption capacity that impact on company’s product modification activities today. This research will determine the factors that affect and influence the absorption capacity, appropriated to the company, as well as provide suggestions for the improvement of absorptive capacity optimization. The measurement data is done through a survey using a questionnaire on 153 employees in seven specific departments within the company. Data processing method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 20.0 statistical software. The results found that the absorptive capacity significantly influence the activities of new product development, knowledge sharing capability and R&D capacity have a significant influence on absorptive capacity, while the capacity of HRD hasn’t significant effect on absorptive capacity.
