Abstract

Housing developments in Indonesia shows a very rapid progress in line with population growth and increasing per capita income of the community so that housing needs to be great. Planning and scheduling activities of a good real estate development project in accordance with the advancement of science and technology needed to add value to the implementation of the housing development. The samples were taken from the housing developer in Semarang to be a case study of housing development project scheduling activities.Data scheduling the activities of these two projects application of Line of Balance (LOB) and Critical Path Method (CPM) to be analyzed and compared so as to find an appropriate scheduling methods, and how the influence of obstacles on the field of scheduling methods. Conclusions of the research results obtained, the use of a housing development project scheduling activities with Bar Chart method is still quite good, considering the number of technical obstacles for workers with low skill levels, the certainty to work during the project implementation is very difficult, procurement of materials that are experiencing delays and the weather has changed in a short time. If the constraints - technical problems can be anticipated, the use of Line of Balance method combined with the Critical Path Method method will have more added value. Because the research is still early stage, it needs a more in-depth research in order to obtain optimal results.
