HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN LINGKUNGAN SOSIAL TERHADAP TINDAKAN PENCEGAHAN PENYALAHGUNAAN NAPZA PADA SISWA SMA NEGERI 1 JEPARA

Abstract

Background: Drug abuse in Indonesia is an issue that really needs concern. Drug abuse even happened in all layers of society. Drug abuse cases in Jepara district increase every year. It was found out that 70% of drug abusers are students. Generally, drug abusers were people who are lack of knowledge about the adverse effect of drug abusing. Nowadays, which have changed because of the globalization with massive changes in relatively short time, it can be less anticipated by Indonesian people, especially young people including students. Therefore, drug abuse spreads everywhere as time goes by. Based on that, to prevent drug abuse in students, it is needed to know the relationship between drug abuse prevention and knowledge that students have. Methods: This study was a survey research with cross sectional approach. Population of samples in this study was students who were still registered as SMA Negeri 1 Jepara sudents and willingly signed the written informed consent. Samples of this study were 94 subjects. Independent variables of this study were definition of drug, type of drugs, drug using, drug abuse causes, effect of drug abuse,. While dependent variable was drug abuse prevention. The confounding variable was social environment. Results: There was a positive relationship between knowledge in SMA Negeri 1 Jepara sudents towards drug abuse prevention. Social environment also related. These results showed that the higher knowledge the students have, the higher prevention they have towards drug abuse. Also the higher good influential social environment, the higher prevention they have towards drug abuse. Conclusions: knowledge about drugs and social environment related with drug abuse prevention in students. The higher the knowledge abiut drugs, the higher drug abuse prevention will be, and also the better social environment they have, it will increase drug abuse prevention.
