PENGARUH PEMBERIAN JUS MENGKUDU(Morinda citrifolia L) DENGAN PEMBERIAN DOSIS BERTINGKAT TERHADAP JUMLAH TROMBOSIT PADA TIKUS GALUR WISTAR YANG TERPAPAR ASAP ROKOK

Abstract

Background : Smoking can formed free radicals such as nitric oxide (NO), which would spur inflammatory mediators and increased the production of platetelets. Changes in platelets counts and platelet activation would increase the risk of cardiac ischaemia. Noni (Morinda citrifolia L) contains antioxidants that can prevent againts oxygen free radicals and has anti-inflammatory effect is required to reduce the excessive production of platelets. Aim : the aim of the study was to prove the effect of noni juice in grading dosage on the amount of platelets on wistar mice which were exposured by cigarette smokes. Methods : This study was experimental Post Test Only Control Group Design. Sample consisted of 20 wistar rats, which were divided randomly into four groups: Group K were given a standard diet and given no noni, the P1, P2, P3 were given standard diet and diet a dose of noni-rise 1ml/day, 2ml/day, 4ml/day after being given exposure to cigarette smoke 2 cigarettes per day. Treatment given for 30 days. Day-to-31 blood samples taken for examination retroorbita platelet counts. Statistical test using One Way Anova. Results: Platelet count group K(999,40+138,502) higher than P3 (882,60+619,705), P2(843,40+130,378) and P1(839,20+155,046) has the lowest average compared to the group. One Way Anova test between control and treatment groups there were no significant differences (p=0,85, p>0,05). Conclusions: there was no effect of noni juice in grading dosage on the amount of platelets on wistar mice which were exposured by cigarette smokes.
