TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN MAHASISWA FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO ANGKATAN 2011 TERHADAP PENCEGAHAN KANKER LEHER RAHIM

Abstract

Background: In Indonesia, cancer is still one of ten most death causes. Until today cervical cancer is still the number one death cause in Indonesian women. A lot of cervical cancer cases caused by lack of cervical cancer prevention knowledge. Aims: To find out the knowledge level of cervical cancer prevention in Medical Faculty Diponegoro university students class of 2011. Methods: This study is an observational descriptive study done in March through June 2012. Subjects of this study were students who were eligible for inclusion and exclusion criteria. Sampling done by purposive random sampling. Data earned from questionnaires and analyzed univariately. Univariate analysis was frequency distribution served in tables or charts. Results: Overall knowledge level of cervical cancer prevention in Medical Faculty Diponegoro university students class of 2011 had good aspect which was 52,0%, but lacking in the knowledge level about Human Papilloma Virus Vaccination and pap smear which were 65,3% and 56,7% respectively. Conclusions: Knowledge level of cervical cancer prevention in Medical Faculty Diponegoro university students class of 2011 had good result but lacking in the knowledge level about Human Papilloma Virus Vaccination and pap smear.
