Abstract

Background: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune rheumatic disease characterized by widespread inflammation, which SLE affects every organ or system in the body. Clinical manifestations of SLE depends on the organ involved, which SLE can involve many organs in the human body with a complex clinical course, it can vary widely characterized by acute attacks, the period of active, controlled, or remission. In some studies, the more severe the degree of SLE disease thought to affect renal function. Objectives: For Knowing the simptoms of SLE patients with renal impairment and its relationship with the degree of SLE in the Hospital Center of Kariadi, Semarang. Methods: This study is an observational analytic study with case studies of cross-sectional type , which the independent and dependent variables is taked at the same time. Sample of SLE patients is treated in the Kariadi Hospital in March to June 2012 .. Statistical tests use the chi-square test. Results: There was a significant association between the severity of the degree of SLE with renal impairment with a total score of health status (p 0045). Degree of severity of lupus disease by using Mex-Sledai. The result is a patient with mild renal impairment do not have, 2 patients with moderate renal impairment did not have, whereas patients with severe SLE degrees earned 29 patients had renal impairment and 12 patients did not have impaired renal function. Conclusion: There is a risk of heavy-mild degree of LES with renal impairment in the Hospital Center of Kariadi, Semarang. Keywords: SLE, Mex-Sledai, renal and non renal impairment
