Abstract

The objective of Safe Motherhood program is to protect reproductive right and human right by reducing illness burden, disablement, and mortality in which relate to pregnancy and childbirth. Critical intervention is availability of trained health worker (doctor or midwife) in order to give services properly. Aim of this research was to know factors that relate to implementation of normal childbirth care standard by midwife at Inpatient Health Center in District of Banyumas. This was an explanatory research. Sample was midwives who work at Inpatient Health Center (37 midwives). Data was analyzed by univariate and bivariate method using Pearson Product Moment test and Focus Group Discussion. Results of research show that: 1) all respondents (100%) who apply standard of normal childbirth care in medium category have high knowledge. Percentage of respondent who applies standard of normal childbirth care on medium knowledge level and in medium category is 88,5% and in low category is 22,5%. Knowledge has significant relationship with implementation of normal childbirth care standard (p=0,011). 2) All respondents (100%) who apply standard of normal childbirth care in medium category have good leadership. Percentage of respondent who applies standard of normal childbirth care on medium leadership level and in medium category is 86,2% and in low category is 13,8%. Leadership has significant relationship with implementation of normal childbirth care standard (p=0,007). 3) All respondents (100%) who apply standard of normal childbirth care in medium category have good motivation. Percentage of respondent who applies standard of normal childbirth care on medium motivation level and in medium category is 95,8% and in low category is 4,2%. Motivation has significant relationship with implementation of normal childbirth care standard (p=0,000). 4) All respondents (100%) who apply standard of normal childbirth care in medium category have good supervision by head of health center. Percentage of respondent who applies standard of normal childbirth care on medium supervision level and in medium category is 85,2% and in low category is 14,8%. Supervision has significant relationship with implementation of normal childbirth care standard (p=0,006). 5) All respondents (100%) who apply standard of normal childbirth care in medium category have good supervision by IBI organization. Percentage of respondent who applies standard of normal childbirth care on medium supervision level and in medium category is 87,5% and in low category is 12,5%.
