ANGKA KEMATIAN PASIEN KANKER DI ICU DAN HCU RSUP DR. KARIADI PERIODE FEBRUARI 2010 – FEBRUARI 2012

Abstract

Background WHO estimated that in 2008 there are 12 millions new cases of cancer diagnosed, 7 millons were death because of cancer, and about 25 millons people are now living with cancer. End stage cancer may causes many complications which need intinsive intervension to the patient. But, data about cancer incidence and cancer death in ICU in Indonesia are still unavailable. Aim To find the death rate of cancer in ICU and HCU in RSUP dr. Kariadi from Februari 2010 until Februari 2012. Method This study was a descriptive observasional study. The sample of this studi was cancer patient admitted in ICU and HCU RSUP dr. Kariadi from Februari 2010 until Februari 2012. The data was taken from medical record in ICU RSUP dr. Kariadi Semarang. Results There are 20 cancer patients admitted in ICU dan HCU RSUP dr. Kariadi Semarang from Februari 2010 until Februari 2012. From them, there were 6 (30%) patient alive after admission, and there were 14 (70%) patient were dead after admission. Conlusion The cancer patients admitted in ICU and HCU RSUP dr. Kariadi from Februari 2010 until Februari 2012 were 20 patient and 14 (70%) among them were dead. Key word Cancer, death, ICU.
