Abstract

Background Nowadays, colorectal cancer was more oftenly found on patient in younger age which had worse prognosis than in older patient. Adenocarcinoma was a type of colorectal cancer which was oftenly found. Differentiation degree was a factor influenced colorectal cancer prognosis. The purpose of this study was to show that there was difference in differentiation degree of Adenocarcinoma colorectal between young, middle, and old age. Method It was an observational analytic retrospective studies with cross sectional method. Patient’s medical records with diagnosis adenocarcinoma colorectal from Kariadi Hospital Semarang were classified into three groups, young age (≤40 years old), middle age(41-60 years old), and old age(>60 years old). Then, differentiation degree were noted . It was analyzed by chi-square test. Result Analysis between age and differentiation degree shows that there is a significant difference with p=0,01. It also shows that the younger patient they are found the most in moderate-poorly differentiation degree, and the least they are found in well differentiation degree. Conclusion There is a significant difference in differentiation degree of adenocarcinoma colorectal between young, middle, and old age in Dr Kariadi Hospital Semarang.
