Abstract

Background:Pulmonary tuberculosis has high prevalence rate in developing country including Indonesia. Indonesia had been performed prevention strategy of pulmonary tuberculosis known as DOTS (directly observed treatment short course) that consists of 1) political commitment, 2) case detection by bacteriology, 3) supervision and patient support, 4) drug supply and evaluation. Conversion rate is percentage of positive acid fast bacillus become negative after two months of intensive phase. Goal:The objective of this study is to know about the influence of supervision tuberculosis drug consume implementation that consists of precence of supervisor tuberculosis drug, drug consume obedience, control obedience and appropriate dose consume toward conversion of acid fast bacillus. Methode:Design of this study is retrospective cross sectional. This study need 61 sample of tuberculosis patient in DOTS clinic RSUP dr Kariadi that have criteria inclusion pulmonary tuberculosis with positive acid fast bacillus. Statistical analysis to identify the influence of implementation TB drug consume supervision was performed by using chi square or fisher exact test, then continued with multivariate analysis when p value < 0.25. Result:A total 61 individuals were included in this study, male 34 (55.7%) female 27 (44.3%) and age 44±17. Bivariate analysis of control obedience p<0.001 and drug consume obedience p=0.001 those variable analyze with multivariate are p=0.998 and p=0.999. Presence of supervisor p=0.669 and appropriate dose of tuberculosis drug cannot analyzed because the result is constant. Conclusion: Control obedience and drug consume obedience have significancy difference toward conversion with bivariate analysis, analyze with multivariate, both have no significancy. Presence of supervisor and appropriate dose of tuberculosis drug both have no significancy toward conversion of positive acid fast bacillus.
