Abstract

Background : Lung cancer is currently increasing in number and become one of the world's health problems, including in Indonesia. Lung carcinoma in Indonesia was ranked fourth of all cancers are often found in homes sakit.Patient Lung cancer is often accompanied by shortness of breath and pleural effusion. Primary Dutha Avisenna research found differences in the number of lung cancer of men and women with or pleural effusion, so far no studies have examined the association between the incidence of carcinoma of the lung with pleural effusion. The discovery of early lung cancer staging will greatly assist in the diagnosis of patients and the discovery of a faster time allows people to obtain a better quality of life in the course of the disease although it can not cure it. The choice of therapy should be made considering the poor response to various types of lung cancer therapyThe goals of this study was to look for relationships between various types of histology Lung Carcinoma with Pleural effusion. Methods :. he study design was retrospective descriptive study, using medical records as a sample of the study. Large samples were taken for 63 samples in medical record Dr. Semarang Kariadi hospital period from June to July 2010. Data on the form of tables and figures Results :. Number of patients with lung cancer were 63 patients. Types of lung cancer is commonly found as many as 55 patients Adenocarcinoma. The age distribution of lung cancer at the age between 51-63 Most of the total of 19 patients. Most clinical symptoms experienced by cancer sufferers The Lungs are shortness of breath that is equal to 55 patients. Lung cancer is the number of patients with Pleural effusion as many as 23 pendeita. The number of patients with adeno-carcinoma which totaled 21 patients pleural effusion and adeno-carcinoma patients who did not have amounted to 34 Pleural effusion patients. Number of Patients with squamous cell carcinoma and epidermoid carcinoma accompanied respectively by 1 pleural effusion and the patient and that no two patients with pleural effusion. There were no patients with small cell carcinoma accompanied by effusion plura, there are a people with small cell carcinoma is not accompanied by pleural effusion. Adeno-squamous patients found that not one patient with pleural effusion Conclusion: There was no relationship between lung carcinoma of pleural effusion Key words: Lung carcinoma, clinical symptoms pleural effusion
