RERATA WAKTU PENGGUNAAN VENTILATOR PADA PASIEN MEDICAL ICU RS.DR.KARIADI SEMARANG PADA BULAN JANUARI 2010-JANUARI 2011

Abstract

Background: The ICU is a ward at the Hospital which is equipped with specialized staff and equipment to care for and treat patients who endangered the soul by the failure / dysfunction of multiple organs or due to disease, disaster or complications remaining life expectancy (reversible). Ones I will focus in this study were patients who were treated and included in the category of medical medical.Medical patients are patients with systemic disease that requires medical assistance patients ventilator.In medical patients, one of the monitored vital signs are respiratory, respiratory disorders often resulting in a variety of complications and death, so they require intensive supervision and treatment and adequate.In this case we are using the tools, the ventilator. This research is also done because there is no kind of research like this before, and can be used to determine the standard of period of ventilator use in medical ICU patients,and is expected also to improve the quality of ICU care. Purpose: Knowing / get data about the long use of ventilators in medical patients who were treated in hospital Dr.Kariadi Semarang. Methods: This type of research is research observasional.Metode used is the method of cross sectional. Patient data retrieved from medical records of patients RSDK medical ICU in the period January 2010 until January 2011. The whole data processing is done by using SPSS 17.00 For Windows Results: Found 44 medical ICU patients who use ventilator.6 of them out of the ICU for reasons of recovery, while the remaining 38 are dead.there are number of medical ICU patients who died because the condition was poor or delayed. Conclusion: the number of medical ICU patients who died of a patient's initial condition was poor or delayed before entering the ICU. Keywords: ICU, ventilator, medical ICU patients.
