Abstract
The development of technology is now growing rapidly, the emergence of new media called internet even easier for humans to communicate without knowing the limitations of space and time. Computer-mediated communication has become the new media in the development of journalistic activities. One of the online news portal in Indonesia that is consumed is vivanews.com. In disseminating information, online media has the advantage that it can be accessed easily, quickly, anywhere, anytime, and held for more update information. However, the fulfillment of the needs of the audience will speed the news just does not give good information. Many errors found in the online news portal. When an error occurs in a news story it becomes inaccurate and change the meaning of the content of the news, so that the news be not credible. It is encouraging researchers to describe and determine the credibility vivanews.com news. This study uses a quantitative approach to content analysis method. Content analysis was used to analyze and describe the credibility of the news posted by vivanews.com for 1 - May 31, 2012. The time was chosen because it is a period of time when the number of page viewer VIVAnews have increase percentage. From this research, can be seen that the preaching of the online news portal vivanews.com quite credible. The qualities that determine the credibility of the news such as accuracy, believability, bias, and completeness are owned vivanews.com and relatively satisfied.
