Memahami Dialektika Konflik dan Pengalaman Komunikasi Pasangan Suami Istri Remaja Dalam Proses Penyelesaian Konflik Rumah Tangga

Abstract

Abstract Many teenage marriages experience marital divorce. Most of teenage divorces caused by lack of domestic harmony triggered by conflicts in their household. To be able to resolve the conflict well requires the ability to build good communication so the dialectical of variety conditions in the teenage couple life of will be balanced so as to create a harmonious household The purpose of this study to understand how the dialectic of conflict and communication experiences made by teenage couples in the process of conflict resolution. The basic theory used is a relational theory of Dialectics Leslie Baxter and Barbara Montgomery. Data obtained from in depth interviews with six informants that divided as three couples. Data analysis methods used are phenomenological method of Von Eckartsberg. The results showed that the dialectic occurs in teenage couples conflict is about the individualism, openness, the role of parents, and traditions/customs of the family. Contradiction about individualism occur with different intensity in all informant relationships. Teenage couples use creative ways to balance the contradictions in the household. In this study the conflict can be seen as something positive and negative. Differences of opinion expressed and responded through verbal and non verbal expression. Teenage couples are able to use productive conflict strategy to solve their conflicts. They realize that their anger can destruct their relationship so they take a break to calm down their emotion before discuss the problem. It is recommended for next research to consider informant age when they’re married, age of marriage, informant academic background and marriage backgound to see conflict and dialectics variation.
