HUBUNGAN RINITIS ALERGI DENGAN KEJADIAN INFEKSI SALURAN PERNAFASAN ATAS AKUT EPISODE SERING

Abstract

Background: Acute upper respiratory tract infection is a disease that commonly occur in children and also in adults. Upper respiratory tract infection attacks one or more parts of the upper airways, especially from the nose to the epiglottis which consists of rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis and if it happens three to five time a year, it is called with often episodes acute upper respiratory tract infection. This study aims to prove that allergic rhinitis is a risk factor for the occurrence of frequent episodes ISPaA. Methods: This study uses cross sectional and questionarre methods, from the scholl in SMAN 3 and SMAN 12 Semarang to get data about acute upper respiratory tractus infection often episode and factors – factors that influence. Hasil: The chi square test results found that allergic rhinitis, the presence of cockroaches, a family of smokers, current smokers, and sex respectively - also have the results ( p = 0,001 RP=2,228 ;IK 95% = 1,431 – 3,958 , p = 0,044 RP = 1,593 ;IK 95% = 1,012 – 2,505 , p = 0,218 RP =0,755 ;IK 95% = 0,482 – 1,181 , p = 0,001 RP =0,384 ;IK 95% = 0,334 – 0,442 , p = 0,386 RP =0,817 ;IK 95% = 0,517 – 1,290) after that it conducted a test of logistic regression and found factors allergic rhinitis ( p = 0,002 RP = 2,290 ; IK 95% = 1,351 – 3,879 )and also factor the presence of cockroaches ( p = 0,028 RP= 1,703 ;IK 95% = 1,059 – 2,737 ) is an independent factor to the occurrence of frequent ISPaA with often episodes Conclusion: People who have allergic rhinitis exposed to the risk of frequent episodes ISPaA by 2,29 times than those without allergic rhinitis and the people who are having cockroaches in the home population has a risk of frequent episodes ISPaA by 1,7-fold compared to a population that has no inside his home.
