FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 ( Studi Kasus di Poliklinik Penyakit Dalam Rumah Sakit Dr. Kariadi)

Abstract

Background: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease with high prevalence. In Indonesia, the treatment funds has reached Rp. 500 billion for each year, thus preventing efforts are needed to prevent this disease. To reach this goal, people need knowledge about risk factors related type 2 Diabetes Mellitus evidence. The purpose of this research: The purpose of the research was to prove the risk factors which related the evidence of type 2 DM. Methods: This was a case control study with 60 samples (30 cases and 30 controls). Result: Chi square test showed that risk factors that were related with type 2 DM evidence are age≥ 45 years old (OR=9,3; 95%CI 2,8-30,6), inactivities (OR 3,0; 95%CI 1,04-8,60), and family history (OR=42,3; 95%CI 9,5-187,2). Logistic regression showed that family history and smoking habit had 75% influence to type 2 DM Conclusion: Risk factors that were related with type 2 DM evidence are age≥ 45 years old, inactivity, and family history.
