Abstract

ABSTRACT Title : Tembalang Community perception of The Community Relations of Undip Name : Ika Wulandari NIM : D0C007053 Each company must be comprehensive to observe the community, it is caused by the diversity within a community. It makes the community of an institution has difference of race, culture, religion, status. It is very important to notice. Diponegoro University as an educational institution does not have and implement a community relations activities that are normative in the functioning of the department of Public Relations. Community Relations, has many benefits for the organization and the community. As a matter of fact, it is important for a company or institution to carry out these activities. To know that the location moving of several Undip’s faculty from Peleburan to Tembalang thereabout to give much influence of the social dynamics of society. In this research, researchers examined TEMBALANG COMMUNITY PERCEPTION OF THE COMMUNITY RELATIONS OF UNDIP whose purpose is to provide an overview of the community regarding the relationship Diponegoro University and the Tembalang community. This type of research used in this study was descriptive using a survey method to distribute a questionnaire to obtain primary data. The population in this study were all residents of the Kelurahan Tembalang Semarang, while the respondent was taken by using multistage random sampling technique. RT III taken at random from V RW Tembalang Village. The number of samples taken as many as 30 people who meet the criteria to be sampled. From the research results obtained showed that overall the perception of society towards Undip Tembalang is good. However, the levels of public knowledge about community activities organized by Undip still tend to be low. In addition, the organization's participation in helping to keep the traffic in order is still considered bad by society. Things that affect people's perceptions are significantly is education and jobs. Education affects the respondent's frame of mind in dealing with a situation or information. The work affects the environment in which the respondents through their work. Environmental conditions can affect how they respond to something depending on the characteristics of each job.
