PREVALENSI DAN FAKTOR RISIKO RINITIS ALERGI PADA SISWA SEKOLAH UMUR 16-19 TAHUN DI KODYA SEMARANG (Studi Kasus pada Siswa SMA N 3 dan SMA N 12 Semarang )

Abstract

Background: Allergic Rhinitis (AR) is an inflamation of nasal mucose membrane by IgE and has symptoms like wheezing, obstructed nose and rhinorrhea. The causes of elevated prevalence of AR not yet to be known. This study aimed to know the prevalence of AR and explore the risk factors of AR on 16-19 years old. Methods: This research was a cross sectional study. Subject of this research were 374 students of SMA N 3 Semarang and SMA N 12 Semarang. Then they were asked to fill the questionnaires of ISAAC to find the prevalence of AR and its risk factors. The data were analyzed with Chi square bivariate analyzation then performed by logistic regression multivariate analyzation. Results: In this study, the prevalence of AR was 30,2%., and polution (p = 0,011;RP = 2,398; CI 1,226 – 4,690), asthma (p< 0,001; RP = 4,608 ; CI 2,424 – 8,760) and atopic dermatitis (p = 0,012 ; RP = 1,936 ; CI 1,150 – 3,241) as the risk factors of AR. Meanwhile, smoke (p = 0,755), pet (p = 0,450), uses of cotton bed/carpet (p = 0,799) dan sex (p = 0,530) had no significant on AR. Conclusion: Prevalence of AR on 16-19 years old in Semarang was 30,2%. Frequence of polution, asthma and atopic dermatitis were risk factors of AR, whereas smoke, pets, uses of cotton bed/carpet and sex had no effect on AR.
