Abstract
One of big problems that must be faced by chemical industries is liquid waste from production process. For example at fertilizer industry, liquid waste from process production contains ammonia with high concentration. Ammonia is a good hydrogen carrier. The waste must be treated to reduce the ammonia content. Various technologis have been offered for ammonia waste treatment. Electrolysis is a promising technology to develop. The technology has advantages over the other, such as clean, fast and it can be performed in ambient temperature and pressure. Factors affecting the electrolysis process need to be explored. Experimental results show that the optimum concentration of chloride ion is 270 mg/lt, and the optimum pH is 10.
