Abstract
Cooking oil is one of the basic human needs in food processing. After the used cooking oil will change the nature of the cause of cooking oil is not fit for use again. For cooking oil that has been damaged can be reused, it is necessary to secondary treatment by adsorption method. This research attempts to improve the quality of used frying oil with adsorbent charcoal salak seeds. This research aims to increase the diversification of the use of used frying oil, as well as assess the feasibility of charcoal as bioadsorben salak seeds. Used frying oil is heated at 40, 50, 60 and 70 oC, then reacted with bark with charcoal seed weight variation 10, 25, 50 grams and the variation of stirring time 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120 minutes. Used frying oil mixture with charcoal, bark seeds and then performed the separation process by means filltrasi to filtrate the results can then be used for analysis. The results showed that there was considerable increase in the absorption of many colors ranging from the lowest temperature reached 70 ° C with stirring the same time. Vice versa starting from the lowest stirring time until the stirring time of 120 minutes with the same temperature.
