Abstract
Hydroxyapatite or Ca5(PO4)3(OH) is a multifunctional biomaterial as a means of bone implant, heavy metal absorbent, radioactive waste stabilizer to catalytic supporter. A commercial Hydroxyapatite tends to be created with a high cost production process. The work of producing a very cheap Hydroxyapatite is composed with the making of hydroxyapatite made from fishbone (fishbone hydroxyapatite) It takes two phases working; first, preparing the fishbone raw materials, second, hightemperature combustion in a furnace. The research focuses on the influence of temperature and time in the course of the combustion. The combustion temperature give the big effect in fishbone hydroxyapatite production, while the time of combustion give unsignificant effect. For variables which showed larger differences, means themperature of combustion, its crystallinity was analyzed with an X-Ray Difractometer. Themperatute increase will also increasing the cristalinity of sample. This research showed fishbone hydroxyapatite that has a crystal structure as well as comercial hydroxyapatite is sample which burned at themperature 700˚C and time of combustion 6 hour.
