Abstract

Number of diseases caused by infection from a variety of pathogens ranging from fungi, bacteria, and viruses cause requirement of antibiotics increase. Various kinds of herbal plants trying to maximally utilized as raw materials for antibiotics. One is the antibiotic of Jatropha multifida. Process for antibiotic production is the extraction to take an active substance that is tannin, and alkaloids contained in the Jatropha multifida. However, the process of extraction by maceration, regardless of operating conditions cause the quality and quantity of products is not as expected. In this research, product testing antibiotics obtained from the extraction of Jatropha multifida using stirred with solvent metanol. The intention of this research is to determine the effect of temperature on the yield variable results, know the effect of variable sample weight and volume ratio of solvent to yield the resulting , find out the optimum extraction plant jatropha multifida, and to know the effectiveness of extraction of various types of pathogenic microorganisms causing various diseases. The tools used were extraction tool. The variable change is used, among others, the ratio (mass of sample / volume of solvent) and temperature. The results showed that the highest yield achieved on the condition of the ratio materials/solvent is 0,02, temperature 55 ⁰ C, and 4 hours extraction. Yield of tannins that can be reach until 98,93%.
